Oh my god, Bruce Springsteen last night?  BLOODY AWESOME!  As in, TOTALLY awesome, and the die hard fans on the various boards are saying it's possibly his best UK concert ever, one of his ten best ever in his career, the best show any of them have seen in the 47 (or whatever) that they've seen since 1981.  I cannot believe how good it was!

I went ( Read more... )

Tell you what... I'll find an excuse to come to your corner of the world, and we'll have an ADVENTURE to that tattoo place in the alley by stage door of the Crucible. I have finally decided, after much dithering, on the snooker tattoo I need, and you can have Bruce and we can give each other moral support. Or something.

Oh well yes, I wasn't about to go out and get one tomorrow or anything. I probably won't, because I chicken out of things like that.

It was insanely happy last night! I have never seen 60,000 people switch from drenched and miserable to insanely happy before, but it was the best thing ever.

Boo for wet and cold, but many hurrahs for the wonderfulness of Bruce, and all the nice people who befriended you (as usual).

Latching on to strangers is wonderful! Everyone is always so nice!

There was an oldish guy next to me in the pit too who was really nice to me. At one point Bruce (Patti wasn't there) asked if there were any RED HEADED ENGLISH LADIES HERE TONIGHT?? and Random Dude grabbed me and waved my hands in the air. Then when Drunk Fool bumped into me, Random Man told him off for pushing "a lady". And he danced the twist with me, and hugged me goodbye at the end.

Omg, that was so lovely to read. There's nothing like a brilliant gig from someone you love. (And whoa, he looks fiiine for any age indeed!)

Yay! I know that nobody else on my flist gets the Bruce obsession, but it's nice that people can appreciate the enjoyment.

The funny thing was when he stripped off, the women were all OOOOOH! but then so were the men! My Austrian friend (married with kids) said HE IS SO FIT! very loudly, and another man (there with wife and son) turned round and said I WOULD!

Ooh, that sounds so amazing. I *almost* wish I had been there for all the excitement. Totally not the experience I had of standing at the Michael Jackson concert, which was like your fears of the pit.

So, what are you planning for your birthday this year?

Tattoos seem to be a lot more acceptable these days. I suppose it depends on what and where. But yes, let the excitement calm down first. Watch googlewhack again before making your mind up...

Haha! I hadn't thought about Googlewhack! Lol. Yes, I'm not going to rush into anything. If I did get anything it would be lyrics, and it would have to be somewhere Celia won't see, so I'd say hidden by a swimming costume, which doesn't leave many places. On the other hand, I'm bloody FORTY, why should I care if my mother tells me off??

I'm not planning anything for my birthday, I don't really do them. Other than hiding and sulking? I will be working late every day that week, so I imagine I will be stressed, grumpy and knackered anyway. I may have a birthday in November instead.

The atmosphere at the gig was amazing - I have never seen so many hyped up people all being so excited and happy and energised all together. According to the internet that was one of the very special shows in Bruce's career, so I feel majorly lucky that I was there. Not that he doesn't always put on a good show, but you know what I mean.
