Well... I went to this steampunk event thing. It was sort of fun. It was like a small gathering of people watchers. Everyone was just looking at everyone else, more specifically what everyone else was wearing. People had some cool things. This one guy who was really quiet and a bit goth had a great goggle monocle. They are indeed some very interesting hats. Sadly, I don't think any would fulfill kitchen head-accessory requirements :P
I don't really know what one is supposed to do at steampunk conventions other than people-watch... My knowledge of steampunk pretty much only covers that there's a type of costume labeled that which tends to include goggles and brown. Now I can add very small hats to that list!

I would add to that list buckles and gears and brass. Very brassy folk, the Steampunks.
Well, some girls danced, in a sort of sad and lonely way. One girl was dancing for hours, by herself, in her own little world, making up little dance moves. Oh, and another who was a "wind up", who danced mechanically and then made people wind her up. Her face was gold, for some reason.
Also I totally forgot to mention the Automaton girl! After automatoning, she came and did awesome robot-style dancing.

My dear Quiddity, I believe your imagination is sorely lacking in scale. Go google steampunk or something. I don't see how you could not love it.
