Worrying/planning

So I have a couple things that I'm sort of worrying about. Things that I have to plan and take lots of responsibility and control over, which is always a little nerve wracking. I'm not really used to being in control. I've done it mostly for short periods of time, and seem to do okay. I dunno how I'll hold up for long-term engagements, though. We' ( Read more... )

I wish I could help you with your movie, but unfortunately I have absolutely no skills in the area that could be considered anywhere near professional... It sounds like a really intense project. Are you going to find all your actors/editors etc at Case? Well, in any case, I hope everything goes well with it! Oh, and my vote goes to Ruth. I don't think it's a particularly masculine name, but Rose is, well, pretty flowery.
Good luck with Quidditch as well. I think it is a particularly hard sport to pull together, because as you mention people often don't take it seriously. Although from what I remember doing at CC, it was quite exerciseful, and we didn't even have brooms to carry... Have you asked about to see if people are interested yet?

I was leaning towards Ruth as well.
As for Quidditch, I have a facebook page. 27 people have joined so far :) I mean, I'm sort of counting on about half of them falling through, which gives me about two teams worth anyhow. I don't know if I'm going to try to register the team as an official club sport this semester... I mean, that's even more organizing, and going to meetings... O_O
We'll see.

I definitely vote Ruth. Personally I like the name better, but it is also the name of the girl Valerie falls in love with in V for Vendetta, so I have a soft spot for that name. And as for filming and Quidditch, I already told you I am willing to be a ref, and I would like to add that although I know nothing I am willing to help with anything my skills could be useful for on the movie (probably behind the scenes maybe artwork or concept stuff? or those things directors draw out before they do the whole filming bit). Of course my help with both of those things depends a lot on how schedule/research/job coincide next year. But acting on the hope I have enough free time to do both, I am definitely up for it.
Oh and finally, I would recommend not officially registering Quidditch until you find out for sure how many people are willing to do it, because if you don't get enough then it will be much unneeded stress for you.

All I can say is I hope people are a lot more open-minded in college. Quidditch at CC was such a flop, except that it makes a good story in retrospect. And is practically the reason that Mr. Nurenberg and Ms. Moskowitz love me.

I would love to help, but I don't think I'm going to have the time. In addition to my schoolwork, I have my own projects going on :(
If I can put in my two bits about the scriptwriting--strong female characters. You have a wonderful opportunity to not make the leading ladies secondary-character-personalities. Think outside ze box!

rose would be more fun as a butchy name since it's so girly

quidditch is actaully really brutal. our quidditch team come back from practice which huge bruises and broken fingers. dont worry about it, im' sure if ucla has a hardcore team, case will be able to have one too
