Today kicked my ass. I got up late and hurried off to school.  Today the students are taking tests across the country, so we had no students today. Instead I worked on my online class and then went exploring parts of the school. Parts I'd never been to before.  Today was a hot day... so hot in fact, that I took a shower upstairs without anyone ( Read more... )

Ugh, that heat sounds awful but glad you were able to get in a cool shower/nap …but the headaches every day? Ugh ): Could they be from the heat?

Good luck on the weight loss *hug* Starting to eat right is not always easy, but at least your trying and once your body begins to get used to it, that snacking at night will also begin to stop and you’ll find yourself looking at something else that’s healthier to snack on, etc. Just don’t get discouraged if you fall off the wagon, just get right back on (:

Hope you have a good day teaching! How long is their school year there?

Ha, I just wanted to stress that the reason why i'd put such mundane things like a shower and a nap in this entry is simply because even though I'm "working." I've got such a great, and laid back job. Most people I know in Korea don't have it so lucky. Hell, even I didn't have it so great once upon a time.

The school year here is different than it is in the USA. The school year starts in March and ends in July, and then resumes in late August, ending in February.

What do you mean, do you not eat ANY carbs or you just don't combine them with meat. Why does that matter, I'm just curious? I've never heard that before.

The weight thing is been difficult for me too. It's hard to stay motivated, and it's hard for me to get on some sort of schedule. I also get discourage a month or two into it. It takes about 6 weeks to truly see results, and I get so frustrated I just give up. It's been really hot here (about mid-90's) so it's hard for me to work out. I've also been super stressed :(

Pop (cola, soda, whatever you want to call it - I'm from Michigan, so it's pop to me) is an issue with me too. I get stressed and go right to the Coke although I know it's horrible for me.

Are you able to get brown rice there? It's not so processed and is better for you. It isn't as tasty though.

Good luck with the yoga!

Haha, I'm from Indiana, so like you, we also call it pop. However, when I blog, some people may not understand. In Korea people laugh at me if I say pop. Must be a regional thing.

They have brown rice, but it is not as easily available. It's just more expensive. But when i'm at home, I rarely ever cook rice, even though I do have some brown rice. I usually just feel guilty about the carb load I'm about to put into my system. Too bad that I don't feel as guilty about my portion sizes

Where abouts in South Korea are you? I'm not familiar with it, but are you in Seoul or another city or more in the countryside? I did some time in Japan and loved it. :)

Your diet sounds pretty healthy. You sound like a strong and motivated person. I think yoga is a great option because it's also about inner peace.

I find that I usually am not tempted to snack late in the evenings when I make sure that I eat at the exact same time every day, make sure to never let myself get to the point where I am hungry. Hungry = I will definitely end up snacking. I also try to eat enough at dinner so that I don't feel hungry later. Lots and lots of veggies and salad and I try to make sure that I've eaten it before 7.30pm. This whole eating right business isn't easy, that's for sure.

Have fun teaching tomorrow! :D

Losing weigh is probably the hardest thing to do. Ever since I finish high school back in 2007 I never gained anything until this year all of a sudden I'm getting fatter and fatter. It may not show up in any picture but when I weigh it's too much already. Although I'm following the same routine since 4 years and didn't change anything but now all of a sudden I'm not liking my body anymore.

Well, I know what caused my weight problems... Genetics, poor eating habits, and depression. After losing my dad and breaking up with an old boyfriend, I just ate pretty much everything in sight.. like as if eating everything would bring them both back. You know? I still do it now, but not for the BF, but I do notice I eat poorly sometimes and in that moment, I'm like ugggggh. Just don't care. And then when I'm done eating it? It's like I wish I was bulimic and I could just take it back.. you know? I need help :/

I'm sorry, never knew you lost your father. Yeah, I think I have the same reasons too, depression and poor eating habit. I overcame the second one somehow but couldn't do anything about the first one yet.

Yeah! Happens with me too when I'm super upset. The only thing I follow to solve this is be positive by reading and doing positive stuff, although sometimes it's not that easy.
