WARNING: In this entry there is a brief mention of some stuff related to womanly things that occur appx. once a month. If you are uncomfortable with the fact that I am a woman and therefore the forces of nature converge upon my uterus once a month, feel free to skip that part. I promise I don't actually talk about the event, just something related ( Read more... )

I'm so glad it got to you on time. I'm always worried that everything is late.

I sort of know how you feel about the long distance relationships. Almost all of my friends are in them and all my friends live far away from me D:. I miss them all terribly and in an effort to ease that, i blow up their facebooks and emails constantly. I'm lucky, they're all very good natured about it.

Getting through it one day at a time is the best thing I can tell you. And making new friends will help that loneliness. It'll keep you busy at least.

It also helps that, between January 21st and today, Noah and I have sent each other appx. 122 emails. That's about 5 emails a day, which sounds about right to me. A lot of times it's more, though. We are emailing pros. I used to be sad that, for the last two visits, I haven't been able to get through the Noah-leaving part without slight tears and separation anxiety, but I'm learning to embrace it. There's nothing wrong with a few tears because your loved one has to go away. As long as I'm not having a significant breakdown or anything like that every time he leaves, I think it's healthy.

M. and I have done two extended long-distance stints, for two years when I was in high school and he was in college, and two years post-college. I cried every single time we parted. Every time. It's okay. (:

but we always say "we're one day closer to being together forever than we were yesterday".

This is the most adorable thing I've ever heard. I'm rooting for you guys. (:

(Also, this is one of the reasons I freaking hate Valentine's Day. It makes even people who are happily coupled feel sad! What the hell, VDay. What are you even good for?)

And hooray for reusable, eco-friendly womanly products! :D I don't know how I'd feel about using something that comes in adorable and colorful patterns, though--I worry I'd feel guilty for ruining it, even if I know it'll wash out. I guess almost anything is better than white, though. (:

Haha I think I have more of a tolerance for ruining pretty things because I'm a ballerina. A huge part of ballet is just "wow, look at these gorgeous pointe shoes I just bought! They make them specially in Japan for people with narrow, tiny feet like mine, and they cost like $75! I can't wait to TOTALLY DESTROY THEM by hitting them against things and bending them out of shape and some people even set them on fire!" :-P I think that every time I look at them it will make the idea of period week a little more fun (because right now the fun level is at 0%, so, you know).

I think one of the things that helps us so much is knowing that there are so many people out there who love us and are hoping that we're going to make it. We love each other, and we love all our friends, and we're so happy that people support us! Plus I've met so many awesome and affectionate and warm welcoming people because of this relationship, and it makes me all incoherent with happiness when I think about it. :-D
