Yes, believe it or not, I’m posting some news! Or more likely, I’m trying to prove to friends, relations and readers that I haven’t been buried alive beneath a heap of manuscript pages--not yet!
People who’d like to verify the fact that I'm still alive might want to drop by the

I just devoured Wicked Gentlemen and I loved it. <3
I'm weird and I've been putting off Irregulars until I have a full afternoon to devote to it as I'm sure it's going to be amazing. I hate getting interrupted while reading to do some mundane task like grocery shopping, much as I hate getting pulled out of a movie by those asshats who decide they need to txt/check the time/weather on their phone in the middle of a movie theater.
I really enjoy your writing and I'm looking forward to reading more! ^__^

SO, I remember reading an interview where you mentioned “Blood Beneath the King” quite some time ago-- something about it being included in an anthology? Was Icarus the anthology you were referring to, or was it some other anthology that fell through, and happily the story found a home somewhere else? I ask because I know of two other occasions where authors have written short stories only to have an anthology project fold for reasons mysterious and vague to those not in the publishing industry. X.x
Anyhoo, I’m thrilled to have another of your stories to read. I’ll look forward to that future issue of Icarus.

Yeah, the story was written for a fairy anthology that was never to be. Fortunately the editor of the anthology hung on to my story and took it with him when he started the magazine Icarus.
It's been years and I'd pretty much forgot I'd written a story much less that I sent it out to a publisher. So, I was kind of confused when I heard back from a magazine I didn't remember submitting to... I was like... uhhh, sure I'll take your money... for that... thing about the guys... I totally remember writing that!
heh.
I wonder if it needs an illustration... (hint, hint)

On the drawing front: I was commissioned to illustrate several book covers for British fantasy author Sarah Ash. I’m doing the covers for the ebook versions of three previously printed books. I’m joining the ranks of People Who Did Sarah Ash Book Covers. It's a list that includes frickin JOHN HOWE OH HOLY HELL It’s like I’m a real illustrator now er something! Ebooks! WHOO! (Not to mention Ms Ash is a wonderful human who writes a helluva good story).
You want me to draw something for you now, yes? (cue provocative eyebrow wiggle).

It sounds like you must be pretty busy. Don't let me impose with my hints--though the eyebrow wiggle implies that I might get to anyway--I just want to see more of your art! I really loved the glimpses I got while the Rifter was being released and at yaoicon.
As for deleting the story... well, yeah I did. (I probably came off as really weird when I was all "Sure publish that story I wrote... By the way do you have a copy of it cause, you know,... I ... uhhh.. don't.) Heheh.

I'm really glad you're enjoying the books. The series was an adventure to write and I always feel flattered when a reader chooses to join me for it.
