I'm already thinking up ideas for next year...
Tearing the cover off a copy of twilight and putting on the back "I thought all girls loved a guy that will watch them when they sleep, but you still haven't fallen in love with me"
Taping bits of hair, old gum, and random things of trash to a card and writing 'I hope you become famous soon so all that time going through your waste wasn't wasted!'
In Mirror Writing, write 'Concentrate on this paragraph. Do not look anywhere else in the mirror. If you do, you'll see them. And they'll see you.'
Google-map a picture of their house. Alter the photo a bit so the neighborhood is different.
Then writing something to imply it's a The Venus Flytrap Dionaea House. Not sure what kind of message would work for that yet. Depends what the house looks like I guess.
In an envelope include a baggie of kitchen herbs to try and look like weed, and a note that says 'HAHA YOU'RE A FELON NOW!'.
Oooh, that tilt-writing that you can only read if you look at the page from the edge of the paper. "Don't look up"

I know many things about them. Most who meet him think he is very... attractive. And friendly. But they don't know him like I do.
See, he was one of many children. Taken from his mother at a very young age. Never knew his father.
The woman who adopted him probably shouldn't have. But she did anyways.
He still sleeps in her bed too. I'm not sure how she puts up with that, since recently he was even still wetting the bed!
Whenever he'd misbehave, she'd just lock him in a room. Often for hours while he cried.
He killed a bird when he was younger. Decapitated it.
He also killed the family pet rabbit. Mom keeps insisting it was an accident.
He has an obsession with lady's panties, especially his mom's.
Anyways, I'm including a photo of him for you to hold on to. See, if I ever go missing, I want someone to have a copy to go to the police with. No one else seems to think he's a threat."
Then, inside the envelope, have a photo of my puppy :D

"I caught this for you! I hope you like it" on the outside.
A CD all torn up with a note that says 'I hope this reaches you undamaged but I fear it may not as there are those in the government that don't want this information to get out.' And I could even put a corrupted text file on there in case they get it to work hahaha.
"Dear Self, I am sending this to you from the future. Hold on to it. You'll need it. I'm not sure where it first came from. But you'll know when it's time to send back again." Not sure what to send with it though.
post card that's just a solid red color with instructions on back 'this is a ghost detector. It is white when no ghosts are around. It turns blue when friendly ghosts are around. It turns red when malevolent ghosts are around. I hope you find this useful!'
