This is just an update with various bits of info:

Since we're growing into the 6th week since the preliminary author signups, we just wanted to drop in a little note so that you know we're still hanging around.  We hope everyone is doing well and that Ginny's being a kind one (we know how stubborn she tends to get).

I'm doing pretty well... sort of. In terms of word count, I'm ahead of where I want to be. Unfortunately I'm not where I need to be as far as plot progression is yet. I'm happy, though.

It sounds like you're in a wonderful place. :) Don't hold back on the words, though, just let it come and go. I think I got to about 18K in the Hermione Big Bang before things even spiced up. It'll come, it'll come.

I will attempt to pimp at my journal to see if any artists are interested in participating. Other than that I'm doing pretty well. I'm almost at the 10k mark, which is quite an accomplishment. I'll probably have a mini party over at my journal when I hit that mark. ♥

Today I reached the 10K mark. To celebrate I handed out cookies to the characters that contributed to my progress and my flist. I guess I should start handing out cookies here too. Snacks always help me with the writing process. If I could hand out cookies in real life, I would. I love baking.

Congratulations! That's wonderful news. It would be really just fabulous if we were able to hand out actual cookies... oh, what fun that would be. Once I push past the 20K mark I'll have to throw some major parties. (I haven't written poor Ginny since July, I'm so ashamed)

I am approaching halfway, and decided that the second half of my plan is all wrong for this fic (but all right for a different one of its own), and so now have to expand the first part. Hehe, nothing like making work for yourself!

At least you're being optimistic! That's a tough situation though, and I'm glad you're going to stick it through. (Stubborn, that Ginny is, stubborn) Will you be expanding the first part into a plot of its own and not redoing the second?

Yeah, it was two connected stories and while writing I kind of realised there's more in the first half that I can do, and that the second half wanted to be written too differently soooooo I am shelving the second half and planning some expansions on the first. It's actually not going to be an issue, because the way it is structured making additions will be easy-ish. It's a good thing 'cause I'm happier this way :D

That sounds like a great plan. My own story sort of happened that way; I was writing for an exchange piece and once it passed 10k, I decided I wanted to keep it. Upon finding GBB, I knew it would be perfect. Now I'm anxious to see what you have in store for us!

I was going along at a pretty good clip until life decided to throw me a curve ball. Haven't touched it in almost two weeks thanks to work overscheduling me to the point of exhaustion - but ~ I got a new job starting in October. This is fixed hours so I should be able to get going again.

Feeling pretty confident about word count and flow right now. I just need time to work on it and I'll be content.

I'm glad you'll be able to find some time to work on it again--life always does that to us. Decides to throw a bid wad of whatever we don't need right at the moment we really don't need it. (Dear me, I'm beginning to make less and less sense as life goes on)

I can't wait to see what you've got!

It really does! (I can't decide if it is good or not that I understood that ;D )

I'll be going from shift work + overtime to fixed hours + one day a week at my current job. So at least I will have my evenings to myself again and no more 13.5 hour shifts. Those don't help the plot bunnies much. I'm really enjoying this fic drive so far and can't wait to see what else people are writing!

I can't believe you even managed to have a good flow to begin with, working 13.5 hour shifts. A working banger, you are. Are you following any sort of inspiration for your fic? Like songs or poems? Quotes, perhaps?
Believe me, I can't wait to see what other people have got either!
