Fic Post: Bangel Drabble for Lupe
Title: Christmas Gift

Pairing: Buffy/Angel
Summary: Buffy surprises Angel on the day before Christmas Eve. Set in Season 2
Angel was surprised to find he was humming as he wrapped the present. Tomorrow he was going to give Buffy her Christmas present. He just hoped she would like it. Angel turned at the sound of footsteps in the room. It was Buffy.
“How did you get in?”
Buffy laughed. “You left it unlocked.”
“Oh, I didn’t mean to.”
”Were you trying to keep me away?’
“As a matter of fact...”
Buffy suddenly looked hurt. “What’s going on?”
“Well, I was getting your Christmas gift ready.”
”Oh, and you wanted to make with the big surprise. I get it, I can totally do the waiting thing.”
Angel couldn’t help but smile at her enthusiasm. “I’m glad you’re here though, I missed you.”
”Good, because I like being with you.”
He took her hand, and for a moment they sat in companionable silence. Then Buffy looked up at Angel.
“I didn’t bring you a present.”
“I didn’t ask you for anything Buffy.”
“I know, but people in love, well they give each other presents.”
“Look, if it’ll make you feel better, I’ll wait until you have one for me.”
Buffy considered this for a moment, but then shook her head. “It would be selfish of me to make you wait.”
“Well, I was going to give it to you tomorrow.”
”Oh.”
She looked sort of embarrassed, which was quite endearing.
“Buffy, if you want it today, I won’t be mad.”
”I’m not being greedy?”
“Never.”
“Then, can I have it?”
Angel thrust the newly wrapped package at Buffy. “Merry Christmas!”
Buffy carefully opened it slowly, savoring every moment of anticipation. Finally she saw the necklace inside and a grin split her face.
‘This is so pretty. Thanks!”
“Merry Christmas Buffy.”
”Merry Christmas Angel.”
And then she kissed him trying to give him a nice Christmas gift in return.
