Pairing: Lindsey/Wes
A/n: Belated holiday gift for my dear snogged.
“Peppermint!”
”No Wes, Cherry is the only way to go.’
”Lindsey you’re being impossible. No one in their right mind would prefer cherry over peppermint.”
”Let’s ask someone else then. I bet Gunn would agree with me.”
”I could really care less what sort of candy cane Gunn prefers at the moment,” declared Wesley.
Lindsey shrugged. “It would solve our argument.”
”There is no argument Lindsey. I told you I wanted a peppermint candy cane in my stocking, and that is in fact final.”
“We’ll just have to see what Santa feels like giving you.”
“If Santa wants to have any sex for the next two weeks he’d best keep my wishes in mind.”
”Come on Wesley, don’t be a spoilsport.”
“I mean it Lindsey.”
”I know.” Lindsey sighed.
“What’s wrong Lindsey?”
“I… well I just can’t say it.’
”Come on Lindsey, just spit it out.”
”All right, I’m going to say it, but you’ll just laugh.’
”I will not.”
”Ok, I want to spend Christmas with you. All I really want for Christmas is you.”
Wesley smiled. “That’s really sweet Lindsey.”
Then he frowned. “This is too sweet. What is it yo9u want?”
“Can’t I just tell you I love you?”
“No, we don’t have that kind of relationship. And furthermore, it’s not like you to be this sentimental.”
”Ok this is worse than what I expected. I thought you’d laugh when I shared my feelings, not completely distrust them.”
”I’m not saying I distrust them. I believe you care about me, but I’ve been hurt before.”
”And that’s somehow my fault?’
”True, its not your fault.’
”Glad you recognize that.”
“No need to get sarcastic Lindsey.”
“I could leave now.”
Wesley sighed. “Please don’t. I didn’t mean for it to be like this.’
Lindsey took Wesley’s hand. “It’s ok that you’re cynical Wes, I get that.’
”I shall try harder to trust you.”
“Thanks.”
“Now come over here so I can teach you the virtues of peppermint.”
