I need some technical help

Val made me a very awesome banner, and its perfect in every way.  But how can I put it up on my LJ?  Because I've never used my own banner, I don't know how to do it, put up pretty background as well.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, Happy Birthday Lady A, hope you had fun.

I was wondering if you have tried any tutorials.
Recently I've added the lovely header by larabeckinsale following a very basic tut. First you need to upload your picture (I put it in the scrapbook, but Photobucket or Imageshack will do) and note down its height. Then try to follow this tutorial for expressive themes.
