Haha it's better than sitting at home being broke, that's for sure!

I'd still love to get back to my actual field (I'd like to think I didn't earn a masters degree just to be an IT helpdesk employee for the rest of my like :P) but on the other hand, it's way better than it could've been (and has been) so I'm pretty content. It makes for awesome dinnerconversation, that's for sure!

sounds like quite the adventure... or just a great social experiment to put your degree to work! ;)

I'm sure you could devise a totally anonymous experiment to perform on your captive audience... hmmmmmmmm

Haha there may have been keeping tally of certain occurrences at several points in my 'carreer' here ;)

I work with three phylosofers and another psychologist (hurray for the crisis) so contrary to what you might think I'm not the only one with a knack for research and a curious streak a mile wide (A) (And we might've been making fun of people in the mean while, but that's only a happy side-affect, surely!)

See, my job is basically supplying the information that IT helpdesk (and second/third level support) uses to resolve problems (knowledge management). So yeah, very familiar here. :-)

Oh fun :D Some of the best bits in my job are the occasions when we come up against a problem that we haven't seen before and I get to really dive into it and come up with a workaround or solution. Being first level support, this isn't as often as I might like, but it does happen and is such a rush :D
