Tonight I felt like writing about how I went out for a cigarette, looked to the sky and for the first time in years, felt how vast it was.

I wanted to write about how I didn’t come out of the year unscathed. That it was full of surprises. Some of them were great, some turned out to be great disappointments, while others have yet to fully unravel.

i looked up and all i saw was the cobwebs at the corners where wall meets wall meets ceiling. but yes. we must know it. we must know it. this is actually the first new year i've experienced where virtually everyone i know is seeing so much promise in it.

a smart guy i know once said that as we get older and find more about ourselves, we take to the night. and the many possibilites that a night may posses. :) i think he got it dead on.

i remember this one time, in kaity's house in tagaytay, i drunkenly looked up at the sky and said "OMG DO YOU GUYS REALIZE HOW THE STARS AND THE UNIVERSE ARE SO VAST AND HOW SMALL WE ARE IN COMPARISON???" and then everyone laughed at me. AHAHAHAHAHAHHAA.

but i'm glad you're feeling that now. i'm really, really glad. you're one of those people na when you enter a room, people can say "ah yes, everything's gonna be okay, gino's here"
