End-of-the-year Survey!

Dec 14, 2004 01:34

1. What did you do in 2004 that you've never done before?
- Had my hair profesionally color-treated. Sadly, it was far too expensive to continue doing (and far too messy!)

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
- Yes and no. I did find a job, but quit it, then had another job and was let go. This year, I am going to find a job, at least something I won’t hate to go to everyday.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
- Well, Heather’s very pregnant and she’s due before January, so we expect her to pop any day now.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
- A few people I knew, or knew of, but no one “close” per se.

5. What countries did you visit?
- Didn’t, but wanted to visit Canada.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
- Financial stability, my own place or someone to share a place with, and possibly someone in my life.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched on your memory, and why?
- Other than November 2nd, I’d really prefer to get this year.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
- I don’t think I really achieved anything this year.

9. What was your biggest failure?
- My classes in general, and being jobless.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
- I’m sick with the bug that’s circulating, and I’ve had a cold for most of the year.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
- My Halloween outfit.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
- Orion’s!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
- I’m diappointed at aspects of a few people because they’re stuck in certain situations or patterns, but I don’t need to go into detail.

14. Where did most of your money go?
- Everywhere with the exception of where it was supposed to go.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
- Steve!

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
- Joni Mitchell - Both Sides Now. I think I’ve changed this year, I’ve lost things, and gained things, but I’ve lost some of my childishness.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Probably a bit sadder.
ii. thinner or fatter? Ugh, fatter. But aerodynamically curvacious!
iii. richer or poorer? The same as last year. Lovably unemployed.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
- Exercise, I wish I had gotten into shape. I wish I had worked on my writing more too. I feel like I’ve wasted that.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
- I wish I hadn't have wasted so much time.<-- Ditto.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
- With my families, and with friends. I’d like to spend a little time by myself to, although some might say I do a bit too much of that already.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
- *blushes* Not love per se…

23. How many one-night stands?
- None, I’m too much of a good girl.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
- Queer as Folk!

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
- I don’t *hate* anyone, but some people have severely disappointed me.

26. What was the best book you read?
- Uh…The Fat Girl’s Guide to Life?

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
- K’s Choice, Ani Difranco, and Liz Phair. I’m glad I moved out of strictly rock and metal.

28. What did you want and get?
-I’ve gotten experience. Perhaps it’s not the way I’d have preffered it, but I’ve gotten it nonetheless.

29. What did you want and not get?
- There’s lots of things I want, but there’s very little else I need. So I’m going to be happy with what I have.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
- Yikes! Tough choice. I’ll go with Return of the King.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
- The ripe old age of 20; much merry-making with friends and dinner with family. I just wish it hadn’t been so hot!

- If I had found a better job earlier, and if I had lost a little weight.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
- Less obscure, and a little more girly-girl.

- My friends, but for some of them that was a stretch. XD

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
- Mmm…Johnny Depp…*drool*

- Election 2004, without a doubt.

- I missed all my friends who left for college, and my sanity when I had my breakdowns.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
- Steve!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004.
- “Either shit or get off the pot.”

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
- How about three?

Oh but now old friends they're acting strange,
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day.

what kind of paradise am i looking for?
i've got everything i want and still i want more
maybe some tiny shiny key
will wash up on the shore

Want to feel the warm breeze
Sleep under a palm tree
Feel the rush of the ocean
Get onboard a fast train
Travel on a jet plane
Faraway
And breakaway
