I haven't seen it yet- too busy watching Grey's (yeah Owen! Damn them for the Mark and Lexie splittage!)... I was a bit afraid to watch- it looked a little like that epp of Buffy where you can't tell if she really is in the mental hospital. Yeah, thank you for damaging me more, Joss!!! Anyhoo, if you think I'll like it, I'll give it a go- after I get my wii fit time in (almost 7 lbs! Gone!) love you sister-mine.
I'm severely put out by the Mark and Little Grey splittage. SEVERELY. Just saying. And as much as I like Owen and Cristina together, I also really want her to actually find a teacher who will allow her to thrive. I don't know - there's a lot of mixed feelings for me and GA right this moment.
But the Supernatural ep? Very creepy, very nicely done. Let me know what your thoughts are on it when you watch!
Unfortunately I didn't know in advance that it was a two parter and didn't set my DVR up accordingly. I've heard that it was good though, so perhaps a visit to iTunes is in my near future...

"Refreshingly not bad" - I think you nailed it with that one. I liked 5x10 well enough also, but have generally been unimpressed with season five as a whole. There's not been one episode where I haven't been able to look back and go "well, you know..." My favorite was probably 5x02 and even in that one I get annoyed at Ellen for trashtalking Jo.
But this one? I liked this one. As others have commented, it's a bit odd to have this random MotW case when the seasonal plot should be getting some focus, but the ep itself worked out pretty well for me.

I think the arc development issue wouldn't be so bad if there hadn't been so much wasted time earlier in the season. It's the only thing that brings down an otherwise enjoyable ep for me.
The thing with the corpses is that Dean's expression and the shape of their faces made me think of the way Dean had that flashback when he stared at the masks in 4x07 last year. It struck me as being rather reminiscent. With all the other deliberate callbacks to S4 in the ep, I could see that being one of them.
It seems they always seem to have deep convos before they get into the car although it must make an awkward ride for awhile.Ha! Though I liked that this time instead of having an honest heart to heart, we had Dean putting a kibosh on things before they even really got started. I prefer it when things are shown to me and not told, which has been my biggest issue with the Impala side confessions for the past season and a half

I think I'm going to have to take a look at all of the scenes again. *g*
4x07 was the Halloween ep from last year, unless I'm getting my numbers mixed up. Pretty sure that's right though. It's The Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester? Anyway, they go to a high school and there are these masks that the kids have made hanging up on the ceiling. Bloody and kinda disturbing looking. Dean glances at the and then gets sucked in, staring at them until Sam snaps him out of it by calling his name (repeatedly, I think) and asking if it brings back memories. It was pretty heavily implied that Dean was having a Hell flashback there, which makes the imagery of dismembered heads up on a ceiling somewhere to be a bit more gruesome than it was originally.
Dean acknowledging his responsibility and the fact that he feels the need to save every one of us was heartbreaking. He sounded so tired. I agree that Sam's desire to talk about things is healthier than Dean's repression, but boy oh boy, does the man have bad timing! Plus I'm still holding out

OMG! I was beginning to think I was the only one who didn't quite think that scene where Dean drops his pants was epic. I too cringed at it and in fact have written that it wasn't my fav scene as it is to everyone else. I loved Dean's facial expressions throughout the episode, Jensen is like play dough with his various facial expressions xD But that scene just didn't do it for me

Ahahahaha - No. There was someone on TWOP that made a great point about that scene. It didn't fit in with the psychosis they were presenting (paranoid schizophrenics) and there was no purpose to it. Telling the nurse that they were down there to find monsters was exactly the perfect response since they were admitted because they kept going around trying to find monsters. It was an over the top, juvenile joke and I'm kind of sick of that twelve year old boy style of humor. I want to watch Supernatural on Thursday nights, not South Park

Yeh I actually would have preferred it if they both screamed 'monster monster behind you. Dean there it is kill it. Sam shut up I got it!' kind of thing lol i think that would have been really funny :D and more in tune with why they were really there
