I felt that the whole DW vs Lj thing has already died down a little... Well, since I don't have a DW and don't plan on getting one, I'm all for this comm staying here :) Don't have a tumblr, either, so no opinion on that.

A change of layout would be cool, though.

And omg, a friending meme! I love those, that will be something to look forward to :D

Also, I'm kind of very happy to see katsuratama mentioned here, thanks for free advertisement of my comm XDD

I've moved everything RP-related over, but I'm still not sure what I'd like to do fandom-wise for my own fic comm etc etc. It really depends where the fans are! If you guys had wanted to move over, that'd be that. Gintama is such a small fandom that if it splinters between two sites, it'll be a lonely kind of place.

You'll get a layout swap eventually, once I find one that does all the really useful things this one does.

I don't RP, so I can't really evaluate how badly LJ messed up for the RP people... But you have a good point there, it's really important to stay where the fans are, it's not like Gintama has so many fans (which is surprising actually, since it seems to be popular, it's even Number 1 on MyAnimeList...)

No hurry, I just feel that a change would be nice, but if you can't find one, this is not bad either :)

I signed up for DW in December, not so much because the comment business made me want to get out of LJ poste-haste (although it kinda did), but because I've heard rumours of further major changes to come. Who knows if they're true, but I've seen betas for total site redesign, heard that the new commenting system may become required, etc. If that does happen, I'll migrate to DW. In that event, I'd love it if ginzura came too, but I'd probably still post links to any LJ comms that didn't go.

Yeah, I'm pretty wary of the changes to come, too, so I figured I'd poll around to see what you lot thought. I much prefer DW at this point tbh, but a comm like ours should go where the biggest concentration of people are to enjoy it, I think.

The constant crossposting is/would be a bit of a hassle, but I'm hoping that things should be settling in a distinct direction within the fandom. And that we don't lose too many artists and writers to the friendlier environment if we end up staying entirely.

I'd really prefer to stay put. To be honest, the only things that seem to have moved are RP comms--all my other fan comms have stayed put (heck, this is the only one that's even raised the topic of moving).

So, yeah. I really don't think DW is necessary at all at this point, especially when it looks like fans are more-or-less staying put.

Yeah, it seems like most RPs have abandoned ship, commenting is basically ridiculously impossible on the new system.

I'm surprised more comms haven't at least brought it up? But maybe it's because we're such a small one. I ask because it's not a very fun comm without the members, we just run this shit for you guys to do what you want in it, basically. I'm not exactly sure where the fandom's headed right now, it's always so slow it's hard to tell.

I'm not pretty active here so I feel ashamed of talking but... I'll do anyways? xD
As for me it's not a problem to stay here at livejournal. I love it. But if in the end you prefer moving to DW I'll be fine with it, too. I created an account there, just in case something happens (as for now I never used it, though xD;;).

As for the aesthetics I totally love how is the community now. If you'll change it because of the new things on commenting and all it's ok, I'll not complain. But personally I love it how is it now *__*

And I'll totally follow a Tumblr account of Perm&Wig if you'll decide to make one ^^

Activity PISH POSH lurkers make up probably more than a half of the comm. Thank you for your opinions! I like the idea of running a perm&wig tumblr, we have such a disgusting amount of fanart and basically nothing to do with it. It's more fun to share, I think.

I secretly love making FSTs, you lot would be getting them whether you liked it or not.

Seems like I'm a bit slow on the LJ vs DW issue. I've been at LJ since 2006 that was the glorious day of LJ. Though LJ has been slow down now, but most of fandoms I've joined still active on LJ so I don't see myself moving to DW soon. In my case, I use LJ for lurking through the coms, reading news not interacting with people so whatever happen to LJ doesn't effect me as long as I get the information I want (as you see I hardly comment here, but I do read every posts). But if this com were to move, as long as I don't loose interest in perm&wig's stupid bickering, I think I'll join there too. Though, TBH, I prefer here. And for TUMBLR, I like TUMBLR and have been lurked around for quite sometimes now. If Ginzura will be there I'll consider getting an account too

As of now, we probably won't be moving, waiting for any other site changes to take place before the final verdict.

This layout is ridiculously useful, it's been this same one since we made the comm, with a swapped out banner. I haven't found one that's as easy or easier to use yet, but I'm on the lookout since now we'll have to look at it 24/7.

The friending meme is going to have a place to list other places to congregate -- I only use my LJ for fandom stuff, so friending on this site is sort of pointless, but I use other sites to chat and post other crap. A lot of people use plurk and tumblr too. It'll be fun to get everyone talking.

RE; fic, I've been working on some shit for aaaages but I'll get some requests done soon, I think! antimonial has a super amazing WIP happening too.
