We're sitting in here watching "Human Nature" and I caught something odd which I'd previously missed.
Right after Martha says, "You had to go and fall in love with a human...and it wasn't me," there is a scene with Timothy sitting on a bench (see screencap),
listening to the fob watch. The first voice from the watch whispers in a woman's voice, "The darkness is coming."
Um... was this a pre-season 4 reference to the message that Rose was trying to send the Doctor throughout Season 4? Evidence, perhaps, of how many different eras and locations she tried to reach during her search?
I've never seen any discussions about this since Season 4 aired, though I did see theorizing about the meaning of those words in Season 3. The conclusion at that time seemed to be that the words were referencing either the Season 3 finale or, more immediately, the threat of the Family of Blood to that community, or even a reference to WWI. Anyway, I'm curious what others have thought about this. Anyone think this is evidence of Rose trying to get through to the Doctor, but failing because he was in human form, with his Time Lord consciousness locked away?
