I really love the way you have picked the painting apart so well to discover such meaning. I must admit that at first I didn’t see all of the intricacies you have pointed out and hence I guess skimmed past the painting finding it, obviously, not as appealing as you did. After reading your description, however, I now have a new appreciation for this picture. I don’t think there is a single detail that you have missed out on. I really like how you have pointed out that Drysdale elongates the figures likening them to the gum tree in shape and characteristics. The endurance of the “Aussie Battler” is lasting.

I just wanted to thank you, too, for such a great descriptive analysis of this image because I can now see so much more to the substance of it. You did a great job Giovanna!!
