A warning if you have pets..

Just wanted to warn anyone who has pets; specifically dogs. There is a product out there that is called “Sergeant's Flea and Tick Squeeze-On”. It is available at Petco and where other pet products are sold. Yep Heartz and Zodiac have very similar products that have a very high mortality rate. In fact the only ones that have been proven safe are prescription issued Frontline and Advantage. Sorry to hear about Raven, I wish I told you before I never thought to ask you. You should have seen the animals pouring into our ER when Heartz came out. Sadly a lot of them died.

Actually this product is also made by Heartz. He is doing fine now, but I wish I would have thought to ask you too.

Yes, it amazes me too. I was so surprised after this to find that it was so dangerous and still on the shelves.

Thanks Carol. He is doing fine now. It's disturbed me also. We got the stuff b/c we live in the country and had found 3 ticks on him in a 1 week period. But, after this I am thinking that the ticks are safer than the chemicals used to prevent them.

holy crap! how awful! i'm so glad he'll be ok. what a terrible thing - a pet product that actually hurts your pets. so glad he didn't ingest more!

Thanks Amy. Silly me thought that it have to be safe for them to sell it. I know better now.

edit: "...had to be safe..." I need a dictionary for simple words. :)
