low fat food question

is there an inexpensive low fat hard margarine/butter alternative that is usable in baking?

I'm not sure. I generally just use margarine from the tub (soft variety) when baking, so I'm a bad one to go to for advice! Maybe it depends on what TYPE of baking you are doing? **shrugs helplessly**
