There's a new law in Afghanistan that makes it legal for a man to starve his wife if she refuses to have sex with him. Yeah, really. Mohseni, the designer of said law, essentially argues that it prevents adultery and doesn't condone rape. Yeah, really.

They just shouldn't be allowed out of the kitchen without a superior (male, duh!) to lead them around. He needs to be 10 steps in front of her because she's clumsy (they can trip up to nine steps!) and easily lost. It's for her own good.

Wow, you know how we rewrote Japan's entire government after we invaded them. We should have done that in Afghanistan.
I remember an explanation for the male escort and dress code under Islamic law having something to do with men not being able to resist temptation so its actually for the woman's protection. I don't know about you but I think 999 out of 1000 men can resist raping a woman if they see her hair or she doesn't have an escort.
