And yeah, I've pretty much noticed that high school doesn't go away. It kind of follows everybody around for the rest of their lives.

Yeah. Kids are kids. Not much to be done aside from avoiding them. Honestly, I think 90% of them are insecure as it is, so when they're making fun of others, it's to hide their own insecurity.
