Kalinka knocked politely on the door to Rei's room, at least so far as her memory carried her from that one visit some time ago. Within her over-sized pocket was a little, red book, one hand inside to rest upon the cover. Her expression was mostly blank, and if anything, she was thoughtful and reflective.

Professor Chiba, I believe it was, crashed into my tree and fell like a limp rag doll into bushes the other day. He didn't seem to move for a while. Thankfully, nothing was broken. William left me a birthday present in my mailbox a day or two ago. It was a copy of a book I just happened to be reading already while walking down.
