Last night I finally watched Fringe 4x02 with mom, which was hilarious because she's never watched Fringe before, but I love it and she's open to liking it. However, having to explain 3 seasons of plot and world building is kind of hard. I really don't know how new people would start watching this show ( Read more... )

I tried to get my bff into Fringe, and my summary ended up sounding a lot like yours, plus the whole, yeah, it really wasn't that good season 1. Or most of season 2. But now it's great!

I really do wish more people would watch it, but damn it can be a hard sell.

I know! It always sounds so crazy trying to explain it! And I haven't even started trying to explain cortexifan yet.

The way they play the two Olivias off each other is amazing. I was really impressed with Seth Gabel as well -- we haven't really seen the two Lincolns so immediately near each other and I was struck by the differences he puts in as well -- but Anna Torv really rocks this stuff beautifully. Yes, what you said. The differences between them have never been clearer than they were in this ep, and you could see them trying to figure each other out. It's fascinating to watch -- and I think they're fascinated with each other.

MORE ASTRID IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING TO WANT.

Yes! Seeing the two Lincolns was interesting because they are so different, and in such different places in their lives. Plus I'd forgotten the Olivia-Lee-boyfriend love triangle.

You can tell they really are fascinated and at the same time, they want to think they are the same person... but different. I don'tknow. I imagine it'd be really fascinating to watch a version of yourself that just grew up... different.
