I was really impressed with Damen in this chapter. Like, how insightful he was being about Laurent's relationship with the Regent and how he finally realized his part in the Regent's ultimate master plan: that the only reason he was still alive was to be a weapon against Laurent, the fatal wound of finding out that this slave he trusted and slept with was the one that killed his brother. And I love how he accepted that identity at the end, because he can't be two people. He's the Prince, and he and his army are riding to the rescue.
Of course, all these deep thoughts were after my initial reaction which was basically FUCK YEAH. ugh, this chapter was so good for me.
YES to all this. I think it's really interesting to see him thinking like a Rabatan.
And OH MAN. Where he gives himself up and says that he raised a hand against the prince. That was fabulous. And the END. I can't WAIT for the next chapter.

Although, was the commander someone that we knew from before? Or was he a new character?
