I'm tempted to change my LJ nick to Xarra - consistency and all that.

BUT I don't want to give LJ any money. So no rename token.

So, I'm probably going to post on Xarra from now on *coughs* if I remember... :)

Use that to backup girl_working, and then transfer it over to xarra. This way you escape the need for a rename token. With this method the only people who need a rename token are those with perm accounts. Only downside is the fact you have to refriend everyone manually as they do you.

You may want to set up any custom filters and userpic keywords on xarra so that they're the same as girl_working first, but it will work without that.

Also, you should consider moving your ryuumeiko posts over, too - there won't be any date clashes, and it'd be sensible to consolidate your journals.
