Perhaps it's the flu. Whatever it is, it's causing the kind of pain you can feel deep in your jaw, in your eyeballs, in all your extremities. Thank goodness for the oxycocet, which has allowed for blissfully pain-free moments in the last forty-eight hours. I'd almost forgotten how itchy narcotics make you feel

I actually really didn't want to take the oxycocet, but Safeway will not dispense any Tylenol Cold and Flu "Night" after their pharmacists leave for the day (what?!), and the oxycocet was the only thing I had in the house. I was very ill and had a lot of Italian to review, so there was definitely no way around some sort of drug. I feel much better now :).

As for Banana Yoshimoto, I've read all of her books (and loved most of them). I read Goodbye Tsugumi a few months ago and I couldn't put it down-fantastic. I'll have to check out Shizuka!
