Jeez... it´s been forever since I wrote in my journal.  Even longer since I did so from a foreign country.  I feel so out of practice!  Where are my words?

I was so worried before I got here that that altitude would give me problems.  At 9,000-ish feet, the altitude is nothing to sneeze at.  Imagine my pleasure at finding that I could not even feel ( Read more... )

Yay! You're traveling again! Honduras? My geography sucks.

The easiest way I've thought of to decide what is important is to consider whether it will be important in five years. Will I even remember it? That helps to put things into perspective. Also comparing it to other things of similar nature helps a lot.

Think about how Lora must feel by downgrading her usual travel style. She must be feeling deprived! ;)

We perfected the art of compromise on this trip. I think we did really well with our budget on hotels and taxis. :) From the other perspective as I told Caryn, time is of the essence, so if a taxi will save me 2 hours of travel by bus and cost a little extra, then I get to see more in a day.

In either case, I think Caryn is coming around to the dark side of luxury travel in a 3rd world country. :)

p.s. We were in Ecuador!

lol, it occurred to me after I posted my comment that the equator goes through Ecuador. That's why it's named Ecuador! D'Oh!
