A/N: 6th part to the series! Did I take too long? I apologize for the delay! Hope you will like this too!
It was close to sunset and the place was slightly crowded. Junsu was at the shopping district, looking for a present to buy for his brother. He had spent almost an hour or so and still has yet to find anything. He shrugged and glanced around. Couples here and there, hands in hands or arms in arms, and it seemed like everyone is on a date.
‘Why does it look like today is Valentine’s Day?’ Junsu thought as he could feel the strong aura of love around him. He shuddered slightly, feeling a bit envious. He forced himself to focus on his original task and after a few seconds of thinking where he should go next, he turned his body around. However, when he turned around, his shoulder collided with another and caused him to stumble back on the slippery ground and lose balance, sending his body to fall backwards.
“Whaaa!” Junsu yelped as he flailed his arms in the air and braced himself for the impact, shutting his eyes tight.
Before his bottom touched the ground, a pair of hands caught his arms on time.
“I’ve got you…” a voice said and pulled Junsu up.
Junsu opened his eyes slowly and blinked, to see that his eyes were not tricking him. Yoochun was standing in front of him, looking at him with concern in his eyes.
“Are you okay?” Yoochun asked.
Junsu nodded his head, “thanks…” he added. His eyes widened when he realized that he had collided with Yoochun, “I bumped into you! Are you okay?” he hastily asked.
Yoochun chuckled with amusement at the flustered boy, “I’m alright,” he smiled.
Junsu could feel the blush creeping in again and he tried to hide his face by looking down on the ground.
Yoochun couldn’t help but smile again at his cuteness.
“What brings you here?” Yoochun was curious since he was always around the shopping district and never saw Junsu.
“Ah…I needed to buy a birthday gift,” Junsu replied with a sigh.
Yoochun raised his brows, “do you need help?”
Junsu pursed his lips together at the thought.
“I’m a regular around here and I can help you if you aren’t sure what to get,” Yoochun added and Junsu couldn’t say no. Much less resist the fact that he can spend the day with Yoochun.
“Alright, I’d appreciate that…” Junsu replied and couldn’t help but chuckled when Yoochun grinned at him gleefully when he accepted the offer.
Yoochun brought him to places and they browsed around together. They conversed along the way, little by little knowing about each other’s likes and what not. Junsu would blush every once in a while when he glances at Yoochun while Yoochun would cheekily smile at the other, just like a pair of innocent lovers.
Junsu stopped walking when he saw something that caught his attention. Yoochun followed his gaze and saw that Junsu was eyeing a ring on the glass.
“I think I found the perfect gift,” Junsu grinned and stepped into the store with Yoochun behind his heels.
“A ring?” Yoochun questioned as he watched Junsu fit the ring on his ring finger.
Junsu nodded his head. “My brother gave me this ring few years ago as a token of our brotherhood. He had one but he carelessly lost it so I’m thinking of replacing it,” Junsu explained the ring on his finger and told the saleslady that he will take it.
Yoochun let out a relieved sigh. The whole time they were looking around, he was a bit afraid to inquire for whom he was shopping for. ‘So I was jealous over nothing…’ Yoochun chuckled to himself.
“Thank you for accompanying and showing me around, I really appreciated it,” Junsu said when they stepped out of the store, with the wrapped ring safely kept in the pocket of his jacket.
“You’re welcome…” Yoochun bit his lower lips. They were facing each other and did not know what they should do next. Junsu glanced up at the sky and noticed how dark it was, they must have spent few hours already.
“I think-”
“Would you like to watch the fireworks with me?” Yoochun cut him off simply because he just didn’t want it to end yet.
Junsu was not expecting an invitation from him and he was surprised. He pressed his lips together, trying to stop the blush from creeping in again but to no avail.
“When?” he asked while he looked down on the ground and played with his foot
“Later…there is a firework display every Saturday at 9 by the Han River,”
“Oh…okay, I would love to…” Junsu smiled as he accepted the invitation and Yoochun, once again, let out another gleeful grin.
It was nearly 9 and they made their way to the riverside, where other people were also gathered. They found an empty bench and quickly occupied it before another couple could take it away. Junsu glanced around and saw that most people around are couples. ‘At least I am not alone now,’ Junsu smiled to himself and leaned back on the bench before turning his head to face his crush.
“I had fun today,” he said shyly.
Yoochun stared into Junsu’s brown orbs and he could see his reflection despite the dim light around them. He was enticed with such simple beauty.
‘Why is he staring at me?’ Junsu was starting to feel uncomfortable when Yoochun said nothing and kept on looking at him. He blinked and looked away because he could not handle the intense stare. It was too much to take.
Then suddenly a sound was heard, indicating the start of the firework display. Junsu and Yoochun glanced up at the sky and watched the fireworks explode into colorful stars and shapes. ‘Oohs’ and ‘aahs’ were heard whenever the fireworks burst in the black vast sky.
“It’s so beautiful…” Junsu said softly, smiling to himself while he watched.
Yoochun looked at him and saw how mesmerized he was. He smiled and could not help but agree without looking away from him, “yes…very beautiful.”
‘I wonder why sparks fly whenever I see you…’
