I was hanging out with Ellie, Marco, and Dylan. Ellie had a hat on and was handing out streamers. I took one.
“I don’t get this.” I said. “It’s just a party for people to get trashed.”
“Check out Mr. Emo.” Ellie blew her streamer at me. “It gives people a chance to start over. What’s so wrong with that?”
Mistakes? I knew all about mistakes. Still, I wanted to remember mine. I didn’t want to have to repeat them ever. Nobody should.
“Nothing, I guess.” I said with a sigh, taking my hat. “Nothing at all.”
