there's a reason the name Rachel comes from the Bible...

Let me just say that Mother's Day this year will go down in infamy. It was crazy...and then it was followed up yesterday by more crazy, and some theft. Okay, so Sunday started off innocently enough. We (mom and I) were going to get up, get dressed, catch and early movie, and then go to my aunt Rachel's for dinner.

Boy were we suprised.

About half way to the movie theater the car makes a scary *clomp* sound and then preceeds to stop working. Well, mostly. We got through a busy intersection at about five MPH and then pulled into a gas station where I had to push the thing into a parking space. So mom called my aunt Rachel (who has AAA on her phone) and she came and picked us up and we had the car towed to our mechanic. So yeah, that sucked and stressed us out and was scary and everything, but the rest of the day went alright. We went over to my aunts, had dinner, hung out, and generally had a fun time.

Soo...then my mom gets a call Monday morning from our mechanic. Guess what? You'll never guess. No one would ever guess this, LOL. The damn thing got broken into in his parking lot. Yup, you read right. Someone actually busted open the driver side window and stole the car radio. Who does that by the way. Steals a radio from a car that's already at the mechanic. I mean there are one of two possibilities there: (1) the radio won't work because the car doesn't work  or (2) the people are already dealing with enough drama, why steal their radio? I just don't get it. Anyway, it happened to be option (1) for us. The damn thing hasn't worked for months and months and months. And when it does, it only plays half of the one CD that is stuck in it. Too funny.

Anyway, Dave, the mechanic, looked at the car and got back to us and the problem was the alternator. The alternator which was replaced less that three months ago. Not cool. (Well, either it was the alternator burning out some wires, or some wires buring out the alternator. We don't know which.) And, saint that he is, he blamed it on the alternator, called the company, and is making them replace the damn thing and pay for the work. So that's fine. Or will be later today. The ONLY thing we have to pay for is the cost of the new window, so that's cool. Especially since he didn't technically even know our car was going to be in his lot--he's kind of being a nice guy by putting back in our old radio and not charging for the work on anything.

BUT the problem then was how was my mom supposed to get to work today? Thank God I don't have classes anymore (finals were last week:  I got four A's and one B. woot-woot. Though that B sort of pisses me off). Anyway, my aunt Rachel (the biblical saint) paid for a rental car for twenty four hours.

Oh. Oh. LOL. I almost forgot the cable drama, from yesterday. Our cable has been randomly going out and so we had to call the company and the came out and it turns out that the wiring in our apartment sucks and it's what was causing our cable problems. So,we had to move everything around yesterday and plug stuff in at different ports--because, of course, the damn managment in this place isn't going to jump to fix our wiring.

So yeah. That was my weekend, and Monday. Which was followed by a week of brain draining finals.

I need a nap.
