Settled and Happy? Could it be? lol

I was thinking today, and it dawned on me that maybe being stuck in Houston for the unforeseeable future might not be that bad a thing... If the reasons I'm stuck are really good things for me, then could be it that being stuck is good, too?!  This may seem obvious, but it was a bit of an epiphany for me today.  lol ( Read more... )

Honey I completely understand these feelings. I hold my tongue a lot about how much I loathe Houston. I never chose to live here. My friends did. LOL When I left for St Paul many years ago, Jean swore I would never come back because she knows how much I dislike Houston. She would have been right. I LOVED St Paul. I just worked so much I never had time to make friends. So...back I came. Each time I am about to fly the coop something happens...like robin and then Big H. I keep trying to like it here...it just wont happen, but the trade offs are worth it.

All in all...the reasons you list are damn good ones.

I completely understand! I went on vacation to the Pacific Northwest and absolutely fell in love with it. At that point, all that was holding me back from doing my darndest to convince Stephen that we should move was the kid. That's not a poly family I'd be interested in. lol

For me, it's not so much hating Houston, it's the fact that I only get so long to live and there are so many other places I could live in! I learned from my time abroad that living someplace and visiting that same place are two entirely different things, and I'm a total immersion kind of person.

Thanks for posting; I enjoy hearing from you! :)

houston's not so bad... you could be back at school! :D plus you don't have to pay half a million dollars for a glorified coat closet to live in. and the humidity is good for the skin. see, it's all in how you look at things. lol.

said by someone who wants to move back, so take it with a grain of salt...

lol... you're awesome, Raven. :) Like I said... it has not necessarily been Houston - just the being stuck part. I've always felt and wanted to be a bit of a vagabond. And now my feet are stuck! *chuckles* All it took was becoming enslaved... ;)
