Luckly, this is a time travel story at its core, and sometimes the best way to stop what has already been set in motion is to make sure it never gets started in the first place.I don't think that'll happen. As of Volume 1, the Other War had already happened. If Agatha prevents the locket from being stolen, she won't use a time window to prevent the locket from being stolen -- her life would have been completely different IF she had been born at all

Considering the influence of Sparks in this world, would it be any wonder if one of them in the past managed to knock the Earth off of its axis? Perhaps someone tried to test if they really could move the world with a lever if they had a long enough one and a place to stand?
But yeah, I thought it was obvious the World of Girl Genius is a parallel world to ours, if nothing else. Anything weird like what you just pointed out is merely more confirmation.
Edit: Of course, this could indicate that what we thought about WHEN this story takes place could be in queston, if we consider axial precession - meaning that the story takes place in our world, but thousands of years in future. However, that begs more than a few questions, most notabily as to what happened to OUR world that caused such a regression in culture and techology, plus ignorance of our existance? And, is that contected to the rise of Sparks in this new world born from the corpse of ours?
I have a 'head-canon' that this isn't Earth at all - it's an entirely new planet thousands of years in the future, and the people are descendants of colonists who have lost touch with Earth. It has a slightly lower gravity than Earth (hence the amazing acrobatic fight scenes, and the existence of over-large constructs and clanks), and possibly covered in nano-technology that is subject to subconscious manipulation by sparks.
"My village is Me."?? I don't get it. As to this being the future. I believe the perfessers have said this is an 'Alternate reality' where steam is the main power source not atomic. This looks to be The End of a storyline ...... or will it be Friday?
That's not what it means. It means "I am the City". It's a paraphrase of the famous "L'État, c'est moi" ("I am the State"), said by French king Louis XIV.

See, that makes =absolutely= no sense. Colette, at the VERY least, could give a toss about Tweedle playing dress-up. I saw the Boyz hustling Agatha off, which is a good idea given what he might try and pull with his new-found royalty, but =someone= should have noticed what shape Simon was in, and stuck around. Beausoleil should =never= have been able to get that near to him uncontested.

The bright one is alpha Centauri, beta Centauri is to the right of it, and further to the right we can see the Southern Cross!
