I find that a lot of that kind of stuff that happens to you during internship happens to me as well when I'm in the hospital. There are as many ways in doing a procedure as there are doctors in this world, and if I don't do the procedure the exact way that particular doctor watching me wants me to do it, I'm an idiot. Never mind that the doc never told me how he wanted me to do it, I'm still wrong. I think some educators/bosses think that criticizing everything is beneficial, while others think actual teaching is beneficial. I'm sure you've experienced both (but one more than the other). Ultimately, if you get the job done, that's what really matters. And you've still just begun. You won't be perfect at it yet. You're still figuring out what works well for you and what doesn't. I don't know how accountable you are for your work at this point - i.e. if I screw up a patient's order, the resident gets the blame for not double checking - but I would imagine that your expectations for yourself are higher than anything else out
