on the way up to ohio from georgia, i left the interstate for a while and took a country road through tennessee, where i met some national guard soldiers just back from iraq who invited me to tag along and watch an army drill for the day. while i was following them out to the guard armory their humvee overheated, so we spent the next few hours with ( Read more... )

i know you don't really know me, or have talked to me much. I added you about a year or so ago when you altered clothing. I thought you had a great style, etc so i added you as a friend.

I've been reading your journal about your trips across the country, going from place to place and i admire you! i wish i could do what you're doing.. i recently drove from LA to Buffalo, NY a few weeks ago, but didn't see as many places or do all the things i'd like to as I was with family. anyways I just wanted to say Hi, my name's kristin if you're ever in LA i'm sure you could stop by! I live in hollywood :) so now on im going to live vicariously through you! haha

thank you so much ! i really appreciate hearing such amazingly sweet words during my 2am truck stop time. if i'm in LA this summer (i doubt it, just because im probably going through nevada to san fran and no further south) i will definitely find you.

it's funny that you say that because that was my third day on the road after leaving the hostel and since i cant afford to stay in hotels, i sleep on top of my car and shower at truck stops so i usually always smell like a foot and have huge tangles in my hair from having my windows open at 80mph instead of using AC. so more like... smelly trucker chic dream!

i'm in the same situation as the person above (just adding you as a friend).

i love your entries and your pictures, i would never have your guts to travel around alone... although i'm extremely envious that you're meeting so many new people, hearing their experiences. thanks for sharing that with me.
