Justin went over to our voting place at 5:30am to get in line - bad idea. One of the women from the local news radio station (WTOP 103.5) was there because it's her polling place, too. Christie King, I think... so it was crowded and there were news people there too. He came back home without even getting in line ( Read more... )

Our voting system was kind of silly... you walked in and it looks like a piece of paper to write on, but then green arrows lit up so you could press buttons and choose your candidate. Like, why bother with the paper? Just get a touch-screen if you're going to do that, haha. And some people took forever - like really, you came to vote and NOW you're debating?

It's silly they didn't have paper ballots - isn't that illegal? I thought they always had them on hand in case a machine broke or they couldn't find your name on the list and that, by law, you could request one. That might be just in PA, but I'd look into that... it sounds silly.

It seemed to be moving pretty fast where I was - no one was debating their choice. I hope the Pennsylvanians were finding their consciences and struggling to find it in their hearts to vote for McCain!

I thought no paper was illegal, too. I may have worded it weirdly though - I first asked if they had anything besides the 8 electronic machines. The woman told me to talk to the chairperson. I asked him if they had any optical scanner machines, you know, paper, and he said he wasn't familiar with it. Thinking back, it's more likely that a paper ballot would have gotten lost if I'd done that since everyone was using the machines. I just don't trust them. My craziness, perhaps.

GO OBAMA!

I'm so nervous for the outcome. I haven't gotten anything done today!

Ugh, me neither! I keep sitting here at work refreshing all the news websites, haha. I'm attempting to do work, but failing miserably. Probably has something to do with the weird mood I'm in having had my parents disown me, lol. At least I can still live with myself.

I keep refreshing Facebook, too, to see if anyone posts Obama statuses. I'm amazed at some of my friends who voted for McCain who didn't strike me as the conservative type.

Yeah, I keep looking at facebook, too. One of my old friends from Lyco has their status update as "feeling overwhelmed with emotions after learning that John McCain has won the election."

I'm confused.
