Positive unassisted birth dreams are the best! I kept having them during Donovan's pregnancy, back when we were still planning on a midwife-attended birth, and I do confess that they somewhat swayed me towards UC. This is a great sign that your body and subconscious know you're going to ROCK this birth -- if your brain starts getting in the way and telling you otherwise, just tell it to shush and listen to your smart body and subconscious. ;)
It was an awesome dream, and the third UC birth dream I've had during this pregnancy! I've had two other dreams, however, that I didn't birth my baby at all - that someone else did it for me. Those were disconcerting, but maybe signs that I just didn't feel like dealing with it right then.
I feel like I've really confronted my birth fears head on, and you know what? They're unfounded. I CAN and WILL give birth naturally! I feel like I'm also preparing myself well - I'm so into this yoga and reading this book called 'Active Birth'. My next personal step is two-fold - getting back into Birthing from Within, and dealing with the relationship problems that Justin and I have that have prevented me from expressing that hospital birth is just NOT FOR ME.
I'm totally stoked about birth right now. I've never been more confident, consciously and subconsciously. I hope I have another great dream tonight!
