Last night I dreamed we kissed on a bench in the evening...

At the moment I just love, love, love Our Earthly Pleasures by MaxÏmo Park.  As usual I'd been drawn in by the singles, but with the whole album on my iPod primed for the journey to Lakeside on Saturday I fell in love with the rest of the album.  Nosebleed and Parisian Skies are just amazing.  Stunning lyrics ( Read more... )

The Queen is in my Netflix queue so I'll eventually get to see it. I think it's pretty amazing that they made a bio-pic like this where most of the people involved are still alive and well. The need to 'get it right' must have added so much pressure to all involved.

Yeah, it was very well done and it's definitely worth watching. As I said I thought it was well-balanced, it didn't attack the Royal family or anything, set out all their reasons and was also nicely comic at times. It also showed them as very human also, the Queen up in her dressing gown with her hot water bottle. They used a good blend of actual news footage in the mix too.

I know, when I heard on the sports news the presenter saying there had been an upset at the US Open, I knew it would be that Rafa had lost. :( I know he said that he didn't want to use being injured as an excuse, but let's face it, if fully fit he wouldn't have lost.

Some people say that perhaps Rafa plays too many matches in between at smaller tournaments, what do you think? Although I suppose he's generally a form player who seems to improve and improve with more matches, maybe it's a bit much for the body to take? I don't know, I'd hate to think he had any long-term damage. Oh well, onwards and upwards!

Mmm..thigh..there's a nice image to begin the day with!

They both really were such gentlemen - I was so impressed with their conduct, as opposed to bloody footballers who nearly always have to blame someone or something and never can admit that someone else just might have been better ( ... )

I cannot wait for the new KT Tunstall CD!

Have you heard the new Stereophonics album? Love it!

I wasn't expecting to like The Queen as much as I did. Helen Mirren definitely deserved her Academy Award. She was phenomenal.

I'm looking forward to it too, and I adore the cover art. I'm sure it will be as good if not better than Eye to the Telescope.

No, I haven't as yet, haven't even heard a new single on the radio at all, their profile here seems to have really dropped, Dakota was really popular and then..nothing.

Yes, she was very good indeed. The Queen must be so hard to play seeing as really, so little is known about how her "home life" as it were really is. The whole thing was pretty spot on. It really made me reflect on that crazy week in 1997.
