i've had two abortions myself, one with general anesthesia and one with the pills. it's so strange and yet comforting to read your experiences that were so similar to my own...i also felt helpless and strapped down with the surgical procedure, like a cow being processed. i think by far the ru-486 is a better option on so many levels. the cramping is a little mind-bending, but the overall experience is not one of humiliation or of having something done to you. i felt more in control, especially since i was at home, with my boyfriend, with the television, in my own bed.

the second procedure you went through is horrific - it seems like the doctor didn't listen and didn't care...what could be worse in an already unpleasant situation. what was the assistant doing while you were gasping and said the medication wasn't working? didn't she try to do something? i'm so sorry.
