Carpet and Paint
On Friday I ordered and put the down payment on new carpet for the house. I've wanted to do this for about 3 years, but had to wait until the house was pet-free before I made the investment. Now that the moment is almost here, I can barely stand the wait. This is what will be installed for the 2 upper floors:
I don’t have a picture of it, but I went with a lower-grade industrial carpet for the basement, just because of the threat of water damage on the lowest level. I'm down to concrete in the basement at the moment, so I'm really looking forward to being able to use my office again. :O)
On Saturday John and I spent a good amount of time playing with the Behr ColorSmart website:
http://www.behr.com/behrx/workbook/index.jsp One can choose a single color or put together a pallet to work with and then see how their choice(s) look in various types of rooms, in various light sources. The more we mucked around with the site, the bolder we got with the ideas for the rooms. As of right now, these are the colors we're going to use:
I used Carriage Door in two rooms already (including the Master Bedroom) and we love it! We're considering Velvety Merlot for the living room, Plum Shade for the kitchen, and Harmonic Tan for the stairways and foyer. I’m not sure if John is going to use one of those for his office. I'm really looking forward to getting this done too. The house is going to look amazing with the new color scheme. :O)
Oh, and we're watching Witchblade (Just finished S1 Legion) and Buffy Season 3 (Just watched Band Candy!) right now. JOHN HAS NEVER SEEN WITCHBLADE, SO PLEASE, MIND YOUR SPOILERS!
