you poor creature! i hate festivals. so. much. but it sounds like you had a particularly terrifying experience. i chose not to go, but i'm sad, because i think it means that my rock and roll days are pretty much over. too much of the shy. :(
clearly that means you should come down to la to see them play! radiohead tomorrow and monday! beck AND spoon on sept 20!!
i'm personally not a big fan of huge all day festivals, though the one large festival i went to was over 4 days, and despite many pitfalls, i ended up having a blast.
This story made me laugh until I cried...or maybe it just made me cry. The laundry list of things that went horribly wrong is nothing short of appalling...I'm really sorry your festival experience sucked so much!

Yeah, I think we all found the whole thing to be pretty hilarious and ridiculous by the end of the night, too. Like, what else could possibly happen? The only other thing that would have made this story perfect was if one of our cars had broken down. Although I think then I might have just cried.

I would like to go to at least one festival where I actually get to see more than one band. Then I'm sure I'll be okay with not going to one again.
