Hey,

I noticed your post earlier this week about cancellations/flakiness. You might want to look at getting a merchant account with your bank for credit cards.

DO NOT get a machine. Use a virtual terminal... ask for it. It is a 'machine' via a web page.

With this tool you can ask for a card up front and test it with a $1 charge. Tell your appointments there is an X% fee for cancellations based on the time the cancellation was asked for. (1 week? 3%, 1 day? 50%)

Several service providers I use do this. They also give a discount on the fee if I book right then and there for another appointment.

I swear I will hire you once business picks up again! My apartment is a disaster and it's just too much for me, but I need to wait for my busy season at work to kick in. Hopefully in the spring. :)
