when i was younger, it kinda progressed. daisies and brownies, there was a newsletter almost every meeting. juniors, it became maybe every other meeting. cadettes was when something was coming up and seniors, there was so few of us that it was easier just to do word of mouth or have me send instant messages (i was the leader's daughter)
it was helpful for a larger amount of girls who are active. when it got to smaller numbers like it does in the later years, it was sometimes easier to just do word of mouth.
i personally think it's a good idea, giving a rough schedule of stuff and what you've done. but i think it also depends on the number and how active you are. but sounds like you're doing a good job =)
I was doing it word of mouth, but I swear half the moms weren't paying attention and would miss thing saying "You never told us that!" but then there were the other moms that wrote everything down and could back it up, but I put out a one page 8½X11 page of a news letter. It's now grown to a 4 page 11X17 folded in half newspaper. The girls love it seeing them selves in the paper. Moms like being able to send it to grandparents, etc.
