our troop is in Southern CA but in an unaffected area in Los Angeles County.
You may donate items to many causes, however it is difficult if you are not in the region because it requires shipping, etc. Cash donations are the easiest and fastest way to get help to victims who need it however Girl Scouts rules do not allow girls to solicit cash donations for other charities, they MAY choose to send some of their troop funds for support but cannot solicit on the part of any other organization (I know...FRUSTRATING) For a list of donation methods, you can go here:
Yeah, we found out we can't donate money, but we were thinking if we could reach another troop out there we could atleast ship the items out there to that troop...
We aren't going to completely abandon the idea, we just may have to alter our plans a bit.
