so i decided to go to graduate school because i couldn't afford not to, and now i will be receiving 8000 a semester in loans to cover living. sounds great, right? thanks government. i will be $40000 in debt after my graduate school is said and done, which really isn't terrible either. i am excited for this semester, albeit a little scared. it ( Read more... )

still at southern illinois university, working undeclared but focusing on gender studies/sociology/sexology. how is new york?! i'll be there in december before i leave for europe. :]

B you totally need to keep this lj updated throughout the semester, I am so excited to hear about it!!! So proud of you, I can't wait until I see your name on a published study or something of the like. !!!! AHHHHHH!!!

And I think your attitude is spot-on. I remember talking to one of my professors about the exact same thing (going to grad school, feeling intimidated, etc.), and she essentially said what you did. I wish you the best of luck with grad schoolin' and peace corpin' - YOU ARE AWESOME.
