Author's note: This story's been swimming around in my head for a while. So my journal title might be inspired by Sooyoung (-REQUISITE FANGIRL FLAIL-), but I've had JeTi on my mind for the past couple of days. Might as well make it my first post on this new journal! (Not bad for nearly four in the morning.)
"Uh huh…listen, Jessi…my first love story."
Jessica flinches slightly.
A month ago, it would have been cute. Tiffany probably would have sneaked her hand onto Jessica's waist as she murmured it into the microphone, and Jessica would have giggled slightly before saying, "My angel," with a sidelong glance at Tiffany. (GIFs of this exchange would have been plastered all over the Internet.)
But it's not a month ago anymore. Tiffany doesn't even lean against her as she speaks her lines. The music goes relentlessly on, and Jessica smiles stiffly and moves numbly through the dance. It's a cruel way to pass on a message, but Jessica receives it loud and clear.
Tiffany's trembling for someone else.
She's entranced by someone else.
Her heart is thumping for someone else.
She said, after all, that it was her first love story.
So what she really means is: "Uh huh…listen, Jessi…I never loved you."
