I'm on my way to work - which means I should be getting home around the time that you all are getting into your day.

I was sent this by a friend:

Sam Taylor-Wood, a photographer in the LA area - has done a series depicting leading male actors from Hollywood - asking them to cry for her.

I was REALLY surprised as to my gut reaction of the photos. ( Read more... )

LOL, I guess thats the point. I figured I'd want to mother them... I was kind of surprised that I was thinking ... more... intimate things about them.

Not all of them. It greatly depended on my personal opinion on the man. Robin Williams? OH my, I've wanted to get into his pants since I was old enough to fantasize about it. The photo of him in tears led me to feel more a surprising and aching need to REACH OUT and touch... to toss a blanket over him and cuddle him better. The same with Jude Law and Forest Whitaker. All men I've stated I'd jump and toss with salad forks given a chance ( ... )

wow. I'm at work and I just skimmed the words of the post and then clicked the link to the pics. So I had no idea what the pics were of. I didn't even notice they were actually crying, I only noticed the pain in some of them and MOTHER was my first reponse. Like OH MY! I needed to hold, touch, comfort and stroke their hair. I don't know, sometimes I think women tend towards being all hysterical for dramatic purposes instead of just feeling the feeling and that sorta pisses me off. Like the chicks that cry at the drop of a hat because they broke a nail or their dress is the wrong color. Men, most men, don't tend to unleash that easily. So I think that's why we all have more of a reaction towards it. Interesting though...

Maybe thats why I don't react to all women the same when confronted with *their* tears. I immediately think I'm being manipulated.

It was certainly interesting, sounds like your reaction was as strong as mine was. It was nearly primal, and intense at a level I didnt expect.
