This is just great.

I lost my checkbook.

I found out I lost my checkbook because somebody found it and called me...but the number they left just rings endlessly and the e-mail address bounces.

I called my mother to ask her what I should do, and she yelled at me.

The bank is closed.

I hate everything.

Please, please tell me something (anything!) that will cheer me

Yeah, I've gotten some help now through the website. I'm just not sure if I should cancel the checks or not since the person did call me. And BoA says I should consider changing my account number, which would mean getting a new ATM/check card, which I really don't have time to do when I need to buy Christmas presents!

it will be difficult to buy christmas presents if they find some way to steal your money. your acct number is at the bottom of those checks, and i wouldn't trust the situation if you can't get hold of the people who supposedly have them. i would do what BofA advises. you can buy gifts with cash, no? it's not like you can't get to your money, after all. it's just disgustingly inconvenient.

Call your bank and they can cancel the checks in the checkbook.

FWIW, I lost my wallet earlier this week with my driver's license and credit cards. Thankfully an employee at Evil Incorporated, I mean Walmart turned it in before anything could be stolen.

So yeah, same boat as you this week. And hopefully the person with your checkbook is honest.

Argh, I'm sorry about your wallet. I never thought I'd be thankful for Walmart! My mom says that even if an honest person returns my checkbook to me, I should still change my account number and stuff because someone else could have copied it down. You're not doing anything like that, are you? 'Cause it's silly and paranoid...right?

Wanna go see the Cold War tonight? It's an all-ages, early show!! My treat.

As for the checks, you should be able to get through to someone at your bank. Do they have branches that are open 'til 2pm on a Saturday? If not, there's got to be 24/7 customer service.

What is the Cold War? ::is ignorant::

...Although the answer's pretty much YES, just because I would like to hang out. *g*

the Cold War are a fantastic local band.
The great thing is: they go on at 9! hooray! (Early shows get me so excited these days. it's sad.)
would you like to get food first? someplace cheapy? crepes at ti couz perhaps? I could meet you there since it's close to BART.

Wait, the person has your checkbook... and called you about it... so what are you worried about? Keep in mind that I have like twelve of the things littered around my room so I'm a little less fiscally mature.

Because I can't get ahold of them! And I am a freak!!

Was the lining up of gaping-mouthed user icons intentional?

No, but it is now.

::is all about gaping-mouthed user icons::
