I've been listening to a lot of eminem circa 1999-2001 (slim shady LP) and it depresses me in a comforting, gentle way.
I feel like every song on the Slip Shady LP is tinged with a subtle sadness.

I fricken love the old eminem stuff, i listen to it in the gym a lot, mostly Curtain Call (the hits album) and The Eminem Show is my absolute favourite..

Do you know his song "Sing for the Moment" it is one of my all-time favourite songs EVER, when I listen to it I get this swelling feeling inside my chest like my heart is about to burst out of it with intensity of feeling at how GREAT the song is. Sorry, random that was..But true!

I think one of the things I like most about his music is how raw and real it is, he sings about real life stuff and some of it is sad because it's true.

the marshall mathers LP and slim shady LP are his favorite for me... I like his older stuff (pre-2000) better than the stuff he's come out with in this decade :P

Sing for the moment is GREAT!!!!! Beautiful is really nice too. And hailey's song. like toy soldiers. I like it when he used to rap about being "poor as fuck" in his older stuff. He had so much more desperation and frustration in his music before he found mainstream success, and I miss that... but of course, I'm happy that he's super rich now :)
