Voting is irrational

It amazes me the otherwise smart people who disagree with me when I assert that voting is a definitevely irrational act.

This article from the Freakonomics guys saves me the trouble of trying to explain why.

I don't know whether I should stop voting or start buying lottery tickets. I just feel the need to be consistent....
